We are delighted to announce that Master Cheryl Lynne Rubbo has accepted our invitation to teach a 5-week Shao Lin Ch'uan class in September 2010!
The Shao Lin Ch'uan class will be offered on Wednesdays in September following the Eternal Strength Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong class at beautiful Gerstle Park in San Rafael.
Cheryl Lynne began her study of Shao Lin at the age of 16 with Master Kuo Lien-Ying in San Francisco, and she is passionate about Shao Lin empty hand and sword forms. We are anticipating a wonderful, fun-filled month!
If you are interested in jump-starting your vitality through the beauty, grace and power of Shao Lin Ch'uan, please let us know asap as this class will fill up quickly.
Northern Shao Lin Ch'uan is a dynamic, fluid, powerful system of martial arts developed by Buddhist monks in China to cultivate a philosophy of wellness. Time and energy are spent perfecting a centered, tranquil view of life. Strength, flexibility, balance, and endurance are developed through this practice. The basic stances of Shao Lin Ch'uan are Horse Stance, Cat Stance, Crane Stance, Falling Stance and Bow and Arrow Stance. These stances are foundational to many of the forms taught at Eternal Strength Tai Chi Chuan & Qigong, including our Guang Ping Yang Tai Chi Chuan form.
Shao Lin Ch'uan builds strength and self-confidence, and improves health, fitness, self-awareness, concentration and motivation. It is rare to find a martial arts teacher who learned these traditional forms of gung fu 30 years ago, as Cheryl Lynne did at Grandmaster Kuo Lien Ying's studio in Chinatown, San Francisco. Cheryl Lynne excels at this martial art, with precision, grace and speed. Shao Lin is traditionally taught to children and young people. This special class is open to students of all ages to build strength, flexibility and fearlessness.
