AWAKENING THE CHI WORKSHOP
"From Stillness and Awareness Comes Sensitivity"
Saturday, April 14, 2012
2:00 –5:00pm
San Rafael
Taught by Elizabeth Meloney and Josefina Garcia Puerta
"From stillness comes awareness, from stillness and awareness comes sensitivity, from the integration of stillness, awareness and sensitivity, wisdom arises." --Donald Rubbo
Join us for a relaxing afternoon exploring Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong practices!
This is the second of three workshops to be offered this year that will delve deeply into the above precious teaching given to us by our teacher. Though it is beneficial to attend all three workshops, it is not required. In this workshop, we will address the second aspect of the teaching, "From Stillness and Awareness Comes Sensitivity."
Some of the benefits you will receive:
Deepen your awareness and your ability to be in the present moment, increase your felt sensations of vital energy and awaken the essence of spring - that towards which the heart is growing.
Practices will include:
- Natural Breathing (calm the nervous system, release and let go of stress, improve the functioning of the internal organs and increase vital energy throughout the body)
- Taoist Yoga (gentle stretches to restore flexibility, cultivate harmony and balance, and increase the flow and function of life force energy)
- Self Massage (stimulate the flows in your body and increase sensitivity)
- Chi Walking (build structural integrity and ‘springiness,’ move with power from your core)
- Meditation (improve your ability to focus and be in the present moment, increase clarity, calmness and your felt sense of internal space, freedom, peace and joy)
Come away from this workshop feeling relaxed, renewed, centered and vitalized. As part of our 2012 Celebration of Primordial Qigong, we will also focus on movements from the Primordial Qigong form that are of particular benefit to the liver (the organ of spring).
Price: $60.00 after March 31, 2012. Early registration price of $45.00 if paid before then.
Excellent for beginning, intermediate and advanced practitioners.
Enrollment is limited. Please bring a mat and/or blanket.
